Understanding How Efficient The Laserjet 2200 Compatible Toners

When considering the HP LaserJet 2200 printer and HP 2200 toner cartridge, keep in mind that one will be getting a workhorse laser printer meant to be used mainly as a computer-to-printer unit for the most part. It features excellent print speed and good print quality at a price (new, around $130) that will be hard to beat for those small office or home office entrepreneurs on a budget.

Speed of printing from this black-and-white laser printer is actually one of the stronger selling points, which is buttressed by that low retail price for a laser printer. At 8 ppm, it won’t be considered a “speedy” printer, but combined with the low price, it makes it hard to pass the LaserJet 2200 by. Most other printers of this capability, even if they were able to meet this unit’s price, are usually a couple pages per minute lower.

Working together with that print speed is the HP LaserJet 2200 toner cartridge print quality. It has the ability to deliver crisp and clear product because it delivers print resolution at 1,200 dpi. In fact, most assessment criteria testing reveals that the quality of the print product put out will be uniformly excellent. There will be little evidence of any smudging or blurring for one, and it does fine at graphics-intensive print jobs, if needed.

In terms of physical size, the HP 2200 — at 10 inches high by 16 inches wide — will sit on any desktop unobtrusively and at a low weight. It matches up well against most of its competition for a fact. Given that it delivers both high print speed and excellent print quality, it’s only surprising that it’s not a big, bulky printer.

There’s a standard 8 MB of supplied memory, and it can be increased to about 72 MB if that’s what’s called for by the user or the workgroup to which it’ll be joined. It usually makes use of the computer’s own processing power to do all of its work, and is controlled via use of a 133 MHz processor. It might not be the speediest, but it’s able to keep everything moving along nicely and delivered with little real fuss.

Versatility is also excellent in the 2200. It can be hooked into a computer or even a workgroup of a certain size. It’s versatile enough to be connected to a network via either a parallel port or a USB port. It doesn’t come with an included cable, though, so it’ll be necessary to shell out a few extra bucks for one of a decent quality to run between the printer and the computer.

This offering from Hewlett-Packard can hold a full 250 sheets within an included autoloading input tray out of a total of 350 sheets (the other hundred can be fed in through a separate manual feeder slot). It can also print on a number of different media stock, giving it an additional level of versatility that matches up with the versatility already evidenced by its connectivity and print quality.

The HP LaserJet 2200 printer is a fairly durable office machine as printers go. With a monthly duty cycle of about 40,000 pages before requiring any maintenance, most users can expect quite a bit of printing before needing that maintenance activity. It runs on most Windows and Mac OS 7.5.5 and later operating systems. It lists for a $120 retail price and it comes with good print speed capability. In all, it’s a fairly attractive printer and one that will meet the needs of the small office.

The LaserJet 2200 toners, an ongoing consumable for this machine, can be obtained any place HP toner is sold.  However, surprisingly inexpensive replacement toner can be found online with just a few mouse clicks.
